Dana Offenbach has had a long and varied journey as a writer/producer/director, and her credits include feature films, shorts, television commercials, awards show segments, digital content, documentaries, music videos, visual effects, etc.
After spending several years working in production and business affairs at ad agencies, Dana began making films. Her first assignment was a short film for the New York City Police Department. Writing, producing and directing this film lit a fire in Dana that has fueled her true passion ever since – telling stories. Dana is fascinated by anyone and everyone’s story and being born and raised in Washington Heights allows Dana to see through a unique lens. She has directed for P&G’s Pantene, Avion, Skinny Girl, Madre, Snacklins, The Women’s March, Pfizer and others.
Dana’s first film titled LOVE & ORGASMS won the Audience Award at the Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival. She has produced and directed original content for several advertisers. Her first short film titled MY SUN SETS TO RISE AGAIN, which was shot on location in India was released by ShortsTV the world’s first and only 24/7 HD TV channel dedicated to short movies. The film is also being distributed on Go Indie TV.
Her second short film titled BEFORE IT WAS TRUE, written by Brenda Kienan won the Moondance Film Festival and was a finalist at the Indie Film Festival/Los Angeles Film Festival. Dana went on to direct her first pilot, Stickmen which is currently being shopped, before completing her third short film, a period piece titled THE 618 TO OMAHA written by Leah Curney and starring Vincent Piazza, Hilarie Burton and Andrea Rachel Parker. Recently Dana completed LOVE FROM FRIENDS written by Elise Marenson and stars Stella Everett, Alaina Surgener and Reza Salazar.
Dana is currently directing DEAR AMERICA: A Message from Black Women for Project Ready – a non-profit, non-partisan grassroots advocacy organization devoted to protecting and expanding high-quality education in urban communities through increased voter turnout and civic engagement.
CinemaStreet Pictures recently launched their NEW VOICES IN HORROR Division and tapped Dhruv Sud ass Head of Development.
Dana is an award winning Filmmaker and a member of the prestigious Producers Guild of America and New York Women in Film & Television. Her films have been screened at The Sundance Film Festival, The Toronto International Film Festival, Urbanworld Film Festival (complete list upon request) and have won Best Narrative Feature, Best Screenplay, Best of Festival, World Premiere Honors, and an NAACP Nomination for Outstanding Independent Feature.
Dana has worked in London, India, Brazil, Ireland and South Africa and very much wants to move into television and series work.
